Chairman - Denis Clement

A long-time resident of Cochrane, Denis brings over 33 years experience sitting on various boards and committees, first as municipal councillor for six (6) years, during which time he served as chair of the finance committee. He has also served as a Director for the Caisse Populaire for seven (7) years, six of which he was on the governance committee and a Director for the Cochrane and Area Development Corporation for 10 years. Denis has an educational background in Business Administration and has worked for the Ministry of Natural Resources for the past 30 years. Mr. Clement was appointed the Chair of Northern Ontario Wires Inc. since inception in 1999.



Vice-chair - Danny McIntyre

An Iroquois Falls native, Danny has been involved in the Municipal Electricity Distribution sector since 1986 as a Commissioner and Chair of Iroquois Falls Hydro. Danny is employed by AbitibiBowater and currently holds the position of Electrical Superintendent. Danny is a Construction and Maintenance Electrician/ Electronic Technician, and a Pulp and Paper Technologist. He has served on many other boards and commissions, both elected and appointed. Mr. McIntyre is an independent Director from the Town of Iroquois Falls and has served as Vice-chair of Northern Ontario Wires Inc. since inception in 1999.


Director - Jane Skidmore-Fox
Jane is currently serving her third term on Town of Cochrane Council. Born and raised in a rural community east of Cochrane, she completed her education at Lakehead University and Canada College. Jane returned to Cochrane in 1997 with her daughter Amy in order to manage the family's property business. Additionally, Jane was the owner/shareholder of Birchill Forest Renewal Centre, a tree seedling greenhouse complex for Ontario reforestation during the 1980's and 1990's. Jane has served as a director of the Fox Waste Disposal Site Inc. since 1996,  implementer of the Cochrane Memorial Tree Program since 2003, and was the owner and manager of the Cochrane Foxes, a girls hockey team for nine years. Ms. Fox was appointed a Director of Northern Ontario Wires Inc. in December 2008.

 

Director - Martin Dinnissen
As a life-long resident of Kapuskasing, Martin has been involved with various Boards and Committees. He started working for Spruce Falls Power & Paper Company in 1973 as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic and became involved in the Local Union as member of the Negotiating Committee and Executive. In 1991 he was part of the employee purchase group that brought the mill along with Tembec. He has also served as a director for the Kapuskasing Caisse Populaire for 13 years. First elected to Council in 1996, he is now in his fifth term. Mr. Dinnissen was appointed a Director of Northern Ontario Wires Inc. June 1, 2009.


Director - Peter Politis

Peter is the current Mayor of the Town of Cochrane. He has recently participated in the resurrection of the recreation program in Cochrane, having led key groups such as the Cochrane Winter Carnival Task Force. In addition, he has coordinated the Community Adjustment Committee, who has studied Cochrane's current social and economic state. As Senior Consultant at For Evergreen Innovative Strategies, Peter has specialized in First Nations negotiation, mediation and business development for over 15 years. He has extensive training in negotiations, facilitation, people management, business and strategic planning, brainstorming and risk management. Mr. Politis was appointed as a Director of Northern Ontario Wires Inc. in 2011.

 

Director & CEO- Doug Theobald
Doug is the Chief Exeuctive Officer and a Director for Northern Ontario Wires Inc. A Cochrane native, Doug brings over 30 years of business experience in a senior manager's level during his time with the Ministry of the Attorney General, National Grocers Co. Ltd. and Cochrane Public Utilities Commission/Cochrane Telecom Services. He served 14 years as chair of the Cochrane Airport Committee, 17 years as chair of the Committee of Adjustment with the Town of Cochrane and 13 years as a Commissioner with the Cochrane Public Utilities Commission, serving as both a Commissioner and Chair. Doug has also been involved with Northern Ontario Wires Inc. since its inception in 1999. He is married to his wife Lynn and has three boys.

 


Director - Dan Belisle

Born and raised in Cochrane, Dan is a graduate of a three-year Business Administration program from Northern College. Following graduation and a brief sojourn working for Maple Leaf Foods in Toronto, he joined the family Chrysler dealership team in Cochrane in 1976 until its closure in 2009. Throughout the years, Mr. Belisle was involved with many committees, organizations and boards, including the President of the Cochrane Board of Trade. He was also appointed a Commissionner of the Ontario Northland Transporation Commission, serving on the finance and pension committees. Additionally, Mr. Belisle served as an elected Commissioner of the Public Utilities Commission, and was appointed a member of the Cochrane Utility Board on January 19, 2009, of which he is currently the Chairman. Dan also plays an active role as a hockey coach and is involved with the Tim Bits Hockey Program. Mr. Belisle was appointed as a Director for Northern Ontario Wires Inc. on July 18, 2011.
