Skilled Trades
Skilled tradespeople make up a large portion of the NOW Inc. workforce. Our primary discipline is a Power Line Technician. These people are responsible for:
  • Installation, maintenance, repair and removal of overhead and underground wires.
  • Checking and repairing defective equipment
  • Cable locates
  • Pole installation

Apprenticeships / Co-ops
Northern Ontario Wires Inc. sometimes seeks apprentices and co-op students who are currently completing their Power Line Technician accreditation.

Northern Ontario Wries Inc. offers three bursaries in the amount of $500 to students in Kapuskasing, Cochrane and Iroquois Falls wishing to pursue a career as a Power Line Technician. Bursary applications are to be completed by secondary school officials.
