Effective June 1, 2020, the price for electricity used at all hours of the day is set at 12.8 cents/kWh. This applies to utilities and unit sub-meter providers for customers on time-of-use pricing. The Ontario government announced that this pricing will be in effect from June 1 to October 31, 2020.
This is the price that appears on the electricity line of your bill and is only for the electricity you use. It does not include other charges like delivery.
The fixed price does not apply to customers that have a contract with an electricity retailer, nor does it apply to customers on tiered pricing. The tiered prices and thresholds set in November 2019 remain in effect.
